Submit your proposal by Monday, April 1

On Friday, May 17, we will host a conference focused on the research activities of the Lab. This conference will provide a venue for academic discourse on work at all stages of completion, from initial ideas to final evaluations. Like Crit Day, this initiative will be an opportunity for deeper critical discussions about each other’s research. The conference format will be similar to Crit Day, with multiple concurrent sessions open only to the ML community. Classes, sponsor visits, and other events will be suspended to the greatest extent possible so that everyone can attend.

All researchers – students, post–docs, affiliates, staff, and faculty – are invited and encouraged to participate, both by attending and by proposing sessions. We are seeking proposals for a variety of sessions:

Presentation (30 minutes):
Present a paper or more thoroughly-developed work, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Poster or Demo (60 minutes):
Present a poster or demo in an informal group setting alongside other presenters with opportunities for one–on–one discussion.

Brainstorm (60 minutes):
Explore new or tentative work in an informal discussion format.

Panel (60 minutes):
Discuss a common theme, issue, or question, with the goal of sparking discussion between the panel (three or more people) and the audience.

Tutorial (60 minutes):
Engage a group of participants in a tutorial, workshop, or other hands–on or collaborative activity.

Other (up to 60 minutes):
We encourage experimental and novel session formats, so please feel free to propose session formats not conforming to those described above.
